It is inspired by the street’s ultimate rivalry, the competition between cops and racers, and it is played in a stunning open road environment.

Built on Frostbite 3, Need for Speed Rivals allows players to choose from cops and racers, each with their unique challenges, rewards and consequences. For racers, they aim to become infamous for capturing their most intense escapes on video for the world to see.

A player can unlock new cars and items by collecting Speed Points from evading cops. The stakes keep rising race after race to make you a more attractive target to the law, and if you’re busted you could lose everything you’ve gained.

Cops work as part of a team in pursuit of the racers, earning prominence and rising in rank with every arrest. The higher you rank, the more powerful the pursuit tech and new police cars are.

This feature allows gamers to smoothly transition between playing alone and playing with friends, eliminating the line between single-player and multiplayer gameplay. Friends will be able to enter and exit events on-the-fly, so players will need to keep an eye on the rearview mirror.
